Description
Another one of my orginal characters. This is Rex. He's a Pacific Great White Shark. By Pacific that means he's from the Pacific Ocean, near California. One thing that was mentioned on one of the documentaries during Shark Week on Discovery channel is that Great White Sharks from the Pacific, like say around California are bigger and heavier than their cousins from Australia and South Africa.Personality wise he's compassionate, understanding mild tempered, and has a forgiving heart. He is somewhat skittish around people having washed up on a beach when he was a pup and two people who happened to be both surfering and worked at a local city aqurium picked up. Although they released him back into the ocean, Rex wasn't keen on being around people, this would include going after scraps or leftovers tossed overboard on boats, unsold seafood from fish markets or handouts from divers. Normally, other sharks wouldn't pass up getting a free lunch but Rex kept his distance from humans. Once fully grown, he ran into one of the aqurium employees who helped him and gradually learns to trust people. He's still skittish but now eats out of a person's hand and allows himself to be petted, though he hasn't allowed anyone to pet or hold him long enough to put a tag on his dorsal fin.
He has no problem being around sharks and other animals.
His mate, Moja on the other hand, is fine with being around people, even to the point where she allows them to give her a completely physcial which helped Rex learn that not all humans are bad.
In my story, Fish & Chips, Rex is one of several Great White sharks that comes to Malibu beach in California towards the end of chapter 2.
He is also the father of the story's other main character, Ashanti.
I plan to post a full profile with more info about him.
This is just a ref sheet, if anybody wants to draw him just let me know.
