Description
A gift from Portugal to Spain, Caminhos de Ferro Portugueses meter-gauge diesel railmotor 9301 prepares for the Basque Railway Museum's 25th anniversary festival at Azpeitia Station. Its original owner's successor Comboios de Portugal still uses the CP brand, which I believe makes it the only railroad with that reporting mark after the Canadian Pacific Railway merged with the Kansas City Southern Railway. CP also bought similar Iberian broad gauge DMU trains from Dutch builder Allan, though the one preserved at the Entroncamento National Railway Museum seems to have been repainted back to its original blue livery (based on Internet search) while CP 9301 wears the newer vermilion/white livery. If I can visit Portugal next year, I will show you how the trains currently look there.
