Description Canadian Armed Forces (CAF/FAC) McDonnell CF-101F Voodoo jet fighter 101002 in post-1968 unified military livery at the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa. Imported from the USA, the CF-101 took the place the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) intended for the Avro CF-105 Arrow as a supersonic jet interceptor. If I understand history correctly, Canada originally wanted to completely replace the jet interceptor with Bomarc missiles in the 1960s, but instead acquired both missiles and jets from the USA (hurting its own industries). PS if you think the Voodoo looks familiar especially in the engine/tail placement, you’re right β€” McDonnell also made the F-4 Phantom a few years later.
