Description
At Stonehenge Works Station on the Leighton Buzzard Railway, Pen-y-bryn Quarry → Pen-yr-orsedd Quarry two-foot-gauge 0-4-0VBT Chaloner (De Winton, 1877) gets some attention from her footplate crew in between runs from Page's Park. Retired in 1960 and brought from Wales to Bedfordshire in 1968 by Mr. Alfred Fisher, she was the first steam locomotive to run on the Leighton Buzzard Railway since the last Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0T was replaced by a Motor Rail Simplex in 1921 and revenue trains were handled entirely by internal-combustion locomotives.Related content
