Description Here is a locomotive that went out of traffic before I was born, but read about long before I saw it in person or got my first camera.  The Columbus, Chicago & Indiana Central Railway (CC&IC) built Class E "Ten-Wheeler" 4-6-0 No. 423 at its Logansport, Indiana locomotive works in 1882, a year before it went bankrupt.  A few years later, the PRR had reorganized both its subsidiaries and its classification scheme, so the locomotive was operating as Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Chicago & St. Louis Railway (PCC&StL) G2 No. 543.  Today, it is preserved at the B&O Railroad Museum (Baltimore, Maryland) in its best-known identity, under which it pulled many enthusiast trains: Clinchfield No. 1.
