Description
Among the many locomotives the London and South Western Railway (LSWR) gave to the Southern Railway were some old Beattie 0298-class 2-4-0 well tanks, which had been introduced in 1863 to pull commuter trains in the London suburbs. By 1923, these little engines had been replaced by larger tank engines, and could be found on branch lines all over the Southwest, such as the Bodmin and Wadebridge Railway's china clay branch in Cornwall. This model of No. 0314, which is preserved in operating condition, is on display at the Bluebell Railway's Sheffield Park Station railway museum.Related content

Excellent little locomotives, and they look quite nice on china clay trains.
