Description
This New York Air National Guard (NY ANG) General Dynamics F-16A Fighting Falcon ("Viper") fought over Iraq in the 1991 Gulf War as the plane of Colonel Brent "Rooster" Richardson of the 174th Tactical Fighter Wing, nicknamed "The Boys from Syracuse" after their airbase at Hancock Field near Syracuse in upstate New York. These days, the 174th no longer flies manned combat aircraft, as it now uses remotely-piloted Reaper drones, and the F-16 is now part of New York City's Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum aboard retired U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CV-11).Related content

I can remember when they flew the A-37, Tweetybirds, in the early to mid 1970's. Frequently seen over the city of Syracuse and Syracuse University. My wife hated them for the noise level.
