Thanks! Good eye -- it was built for the Boston and Maine Railroad as a coach, acquired by the Strasburg Railroad in 1971, and rebuilt as parlor car Marian in 1988.

American railroads did not usually refer to first class as such, but they did run Pullman cars and parlor cars on some trains.

Also American coaches are open inside and not divided into compartments; that being said, until the 1960s many railroads unfortunately segregated black and white people into separate coaches.
