United States Air Force F-86L "Sabredog" jet fighter FU-064, an improved North American F-86D Sabredog with the same nose and concealed rocket launcher tray but better electronics, engine and wings, is displayed at Air Power Park in Hampton, Virginia. The early-1950s Sabredog was the first single-engine one-man "all-weather fighter" in the entire American military, in contrast to predecessors such as the P-61 Black Widow and P-82 Twin Mustang "night fighters," and one of the first to be armed exclusively with rockets rather than guns and ordnance.
