After all these years, I finally got down to watching Helluva Boss through my buddies talking about the new release of Hazbin Hotel. I’ve got some stuff to say, so I’ll do it in a similar fashion as my Re-Glitchtale project!

Where do I begin with this guy? Cursing and Naughty Jokes doesn’t immediately = Funny. This show is SO full of it, and it really isn’t my style of vulgar humor. I can see Blitzø perhaps having a taste for dirty humor after dating Verosika, but not to the point he’s saying one or doing something gross every other sentence. Yes, “rnp, it’s Hell”, but as someone whose spent some time working on characters in a Hell setting myself, there still needs to be some sort of like-ability for the audience to care. You CAN have characters in hell doing absurdly wrong things, but in Blitzø’s case, I just don’t feel any reason to connect with him. However, I liked the scene where he had a dream sequence with Moxxie that exposed his insecurities, and his dynamic with Fizzarolli later in the show was interesting that came with a good resolve! …I just wish that resolve had a lasting impact on him which changes how he views his employees. He just feels like Rob Liefeld writing Deadpool.

Hot take, but I DO NOT like Stolitz. Episode 2 01 & Episode 1 02 just gave really gross implications. Sure, their affair affects Octavia heavily and Stolas’ marriage, but I believe it would’ve been more powerful if his marriage to Stella wasn’t arranged from the get go. Like, they actually had a good relationship that was ultimately ruined by Stolas’ affair, though I’ll save this segment for my redesign later.

Blitzø is the loud and proud CEO of I.M.P, who’s charismatic personality stems from his childhood as a circus performer. After a tragic accident left him out of a job, he decided to start his own business in Pride with the help of his Ex-Girlfriend Verosika Mayday. They’d ultimately go their own separate paths once Blitzø got his footing among other spiteful reasons. The business of I.M.P exploits revenge thirsty Demons who want to extract revenge on the living for large sums of un-refundable cash, and are not liable if said targeted surface dwellers end up in Hell with their clients. While he does best with roping in new clients with extravagant advertisements that feature big explosions in the background, Blitzø has a fast shooting style that gets the job done without a split moment of hesitation, much to the dismay of the more rational brains of Moxxie. Blitzø’ s reckless behavior even gets him roped up into petty fights with those around him, biting off more than he can chew most of the time. To access the Surface world, Blitzø made an arrangement with Prince Stolas which in exchange for lending the Grimoire, Blitzø is required to pay a monthly fee that takes 60% of the company’s profits…He best not miss a single payment.

His aching heart and fear of dying alone makes him clingy to his employees, showing that despite being literally in Hell, his is still capable of genuine compassion. This is shown through heart felt moments with his adoptive daughter Loona, who he might be a little over protective of, but means well for her well-being.
