This was a lucky catch on my part. When it comes to small song birds, my usual experience is that I aim and focus just in time for whatever bird I'm shooting to fly away to another spot where I can aim and focus just in time for them to fly to another spot. Female Northern Cardinal here. Didn't see a lot of males for whatever reason. /shrug
