Kryptonite Kid-Back in my youth, all the Superboy stories had a gimmick. This guy, no name given, was a criminal on the planet Blor. To escape his sentence, he volunteered to get on a satellite and get shot into deep space. He was accompanied by a laboratory dog, because every humanoid needs a canine companion. Their satellite passed through a convenient Kryptonite cloud and they turned green (which really set off the Kid’s pink outfit) and gained the ability to focus the radiation into Kryptonite bursts and the ability to change inanimate objects into Kryptonite. Now, not only did Superboy gain a new arch enemy, but so did his dog, Krypto. The Kid did grow up to become the Kryptonite Man and harass Superman, but, of course, during a reboot, both he and his younger self were written out of continuity. They’d the breaks…
