Red Hulk/Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross is the father of Betty Ross Banner, the onetime wife of Bruce Banner, the Hulk. Ross maintained a long time campaign to capture or kill the Hulk. Along the way, he had a nervous breakdown and kind of got a little insane…and, of course he died (but he got better). He was approached by M.O.D.O.K. and the Leader, after the death of his daughter, Betty (don’t worry, she got better, too). They siphoned energy from the Hulk and used it to turn Ross into a red skinned version of the Hulk…hence Red Hulk.
