Description
Devastator was a learning curve in my Bit-formers project, being a combiner he had to be larger than his smaller cousins but still look like his scale fitted the idea that he was made from 6 of these bots put together. I had to create a whole new body model for him based on the idea that 1 leg would be equal to 1 bot standing up. The trickiest part would be the vehicles that make up the body, Devastator taught me a valuable lesson when doing this. For devastator I copied his appearance including that of the vehicle components that make up his body from His G1 Cartoon, and Toys promotional material this led to some very odd looking vehicles that were out of scale with each other. For all future Combiners I would adapt the image or sprite of the vehicle and use that to make the component. Overall I am happy with his final look (Although he is a little heavy in the arms) and appreciate the lessons I learned from his creation, and in the end his basic body model would become the base for all further combiners and large scale Bots.
