It has been confirmed by Akira Toriyama that King Cold "birthed Frieza alone", suggesting that the species can reproduce asexually. If so, it would make Frieza a type of clone to his father, and in that case it explains the similarities. It's a sign of him doing his research, as there are species of reptiles and lizards(of which Frieza's people resemble) who can reproduce asexually. Though they can also reproduce asexually, which might explain why Cooler doesn't look like a pallete-swap of Frieza

I wonder if his son Cooler had forms like Freeza given that his current form is like Freeza's 4th form and the one after is like a 5th form, during the series i thought King Cold had just that form as current but if he can transform too i say he was just to cocky when he got killed by Trunks otherwise he would of used the power of his 3rd form and scared the shit out of Trunks and then give him a beating worst than what the androids did that it would probably take the power of both Vegeta, and Goku and Trunks if he's still alive to take on Cold's final form.
Damn that would be one hell of a battle to watch.

It looks a bit too much like Frieza first form. Maybe it's the face, or the abcense of the cape. Other than that, it's great.

Based on the size of his second form, I have to suspect that Frieza is not fully grown yet. I mean, Frieza's second form was huge, but King Cold was a giant! Meaning that this form had to be taller than Frieza's second form.
