"Nernan, sir." The lady at the counter explains.

"Nernan?" I say in a bewildered voice and rub my temples with my hands. "Is that anywhere near Hoenn or Johto?"Β

"A ways away from Kalos." She explains.

"Whoa...ok..." I say, clearly shocked at finding out that I'm so far away from any familiar region. I then mutter to myself, "That portal must've taken me to the other side of the world or something."

"Portal? Are you alright...?" The woman at the counter asks.
The other woman shrugs in confusion at her.

"Yeah, I'm alright. Could you direct me to the closest port city or something please?" I ask, wanting to get out before they start asking too many questions I probably don't have the answers to.

"It's about 5 routes from here. You have to take route 12 to lightwater..." The counter lady began.
"I can lead him there, Soph." The other girl cut in.

"You can? Thanks." I say to the other girl, knowing that I'd have to have the directions written down otherwise.

The girl puts out her hand to shake. "I'm Lia." She introduces.

"JP. Nice to meet you Lia." I say as I shake her hand.

She smiles at you. "Okay, are we ready to go?"

I nod. "Whenever you are Lia."

She smiles. "I'm heading out now, lets go." She begins to walk out of the door.

I smile and follow her, but I look back at the girl behind the counter and wave saying, "Thanks for the help."

Lia groans. "Soph, its fine. I'll be okay!"

I can't help but chuckle and nod as I exit. "I'll do my best."

She smiles at you. "So, where are you from?"

"New Bark Town in Johto. But I've got a Secret Base on Route 120 that's just east of Fortree City in Hoenn as well."

I nod, "It is. Although I spend a lot more time over in Hoenn than Johto. Less trouble over there."

"Ah, makes sense." She nods. She then enters the route with you.

I nod and chuckle with some embarrassment as I rub the back of my head while we walk out of town, "Yeah, I've not the most popular over there with a certain group. Hehe."Β

"Hehe. That makes two of us..." She comments, watching over the nearby grass.

"Oh? You did something too? Huh." I say, surprised.Β

She scratches the back of her neck in what looks like embarassment. "I... Don't want to talk about it."

"No, no. I never wanted to ask you what it was. It's just that you didn't seem like the kind of person that would get into that kind of trouble." I say quickly.

"Some people find trouble.... Others have trouble find them. And even more just are trouble." She looks over, somewhat seeing your more panicked response. "And... I'm in the third category." She offers a smile at the end of her speech.

I chuckle and grin and reply, "Don't worry about it too much. I'm in the second category. Seems Murphy's Law really enjoys messing with me, sheesh."

She chuckles. "I know how that feels..." She then notices something rustling in the grass, and stops still.

I pause as well and look at her curiously, "What is it?"

She puts a finger to her lips, and points to the grass, then slowly begins walking past.

I instinctively pat my belt for any of my pokeballs but can't find any. I nod and follow her slowly, avoiding the moving grass.

She continues walking, keeping out a watchful eye on the grass and ahead, so she doesn't trip on anything. The rustling appears to be approaching you both, if slowly.

I keep a watchful eye on the grass, and tap Lia on the shoulder and give her a look that says we might want to hurry and point to the rustling.

She shakes her head and keeps the same pace. She slowly reaches to her belt, however.

I raise an eyebrow, but shrug and follow her, looking back behind us to make sure that whatever is following us doesn't come up on us by surprise.Β

She continues walking, but the rustling gets closer still. She has turned her head to see, but trips on a branch and falls over, making a very loud noise.

I run over to her and give her my hand to grab, thinking that whatever's following us is going to attack us very soon, if not immediately.

Lia takes your hand and gets up, but the rustling stops as it pounces on you, sending you flat on your back.

I cry out in surprise as I get slammed onto my back from whatever was following us.

As your vision clears, it appears a Greninja has decided to pounce you, with a Delphox knocking down Lia at the same time.

I groan a little bit and look up in confusion at the Greninja, then over to the Delphox on top of Lia, "Hey...what gives? What are two starter Pokemon from Kalos doing here?"Β

She tries to struggle to get free. "I-I don't know...!" The GreninjaΒ then lifts you up, and begins licking you.

A look of recognition passes across my face as I say while I start struggling against the frog pokemon's grip, "I got a bad feeling about this..."

You hear Lia grunt in frustration. "You're not the only one..." She appears to be trying to break free herself. But you are wrapped up in the sticky tongue and the Pokemon begins taking you back into the grass.

I struggle fruitlessly against my sticky bindings, trying to get free. "Let! Me! Go you dang frog!" I say angrily as we're dragged through the grass to Arceus knows where.

As you are dragged through tha grass, another trainer comes through the grass, and meets you. Both the Greninja and Delphox look on, as if this woman is their trainer. "Sorry about this, but it has to be done." She begins, walking up to you.

I look up at her and glare as I say angrily, "What's goin' on here?! We didn't do anything!! Let us go!!"
