Dr. Patricia Tannis is a bit of an oddball... okay, a lot of an oddball, but she's one of the smartest people on Pandora and, thus, has proven to be an invaluable member of the Crimson Raiders. The Dahl corporation sent this antisocial archeologist to Pandora to investigate the Eridian ruins there, but after a Skag ate one of her coworkers alive while she hid under his corpse, and after being stuck on the planet for too long, she was driven mad. Despite this, though, she had developed an obsession with the Vault on Pandora, even after Dahl abandoned the planet, and had some of the planet's bandit clans assist with her research. They later betrayed her, causing her to develop a phobia of the world outside of her dig site and secluded herself there. Her insanity causes her to develop relationships with inanimate objects, including chairs and minecarts, even asking the first group Vault Hunters to scrounge up some Claptrap parts to make herself an android double so she wouldn't be lonely. By the time of Hyperion's settling on Pandora, she was extremely sociophobic, but helped the heroes, nonetheless. After spending time with the Crimson Raiders, she's become less sociophobic and while she doesn't prefer social interaction, she's grown familiar to the social standards of the galaxy as a whole. Also, after the death of Handsome Jack's Siren daughter, Angel, her Siren powers transferred to Tannis. While she did her best to master them in secrecy, she eventually had to reveal them.

For some reason, she can often be found riding a fish.
