Description I'm a girl of science! Me and my dad built this device called a diamagnetic levitator to demonstrate the laws of magnetism. You can see in this picture a platform of golden neodymium magnets and above that a black line. That line is actually a super thin, cleaved piece of pyrolytic graphite. The graphite is similar to that in a pencil, but this grows in crystals that are assembled atom by atom...in other words…if you had a small enough knife, you can cleave the graphite into a sheet a single atom thick! The graphite is diamagnetic, which means it pushes away from the magnets beneath it and literally floats! I'll be putting up a video of this soon on my YouTube channel.....RoboLobosTechnology.... These will also be for sale soon so be on the look out for these amazing little gadgets!
