Wastrels need to obtain supplies from somewhere. The most common method is salvaging from ruins and abandoned locations. If one is lucky, however, they may run into a wandering trader peddling a variety of scrap and objects, many of which may contain hidden value.

Traders are seldom seen on the paths Wastrels travel, as not many want to willingly make themselves a open target to hostiles. Strangely enough, however, is that the right trader is less likely to be ambushed by Ash victims. This may be because their bundle of scrap and goods are perceived as an "offering" of sorts.
