The movie The Road to El Dorado is probably the closest thing to a canon gay couple a mainstream animated film will have. Apparently the original idea was for Miguel and Tulio to be lovers, but they ended up changing it. Not really surprising, considering the film came out in 2000, three years before sodomy laws were finally deemed unconstitutional.At least the thought was there.
