It took a while for the three travelers to be ready to move onto Santopae. After one stowaway had eaten up a good portion of their food, they needed to restock, and to Pollux's dismay, they didn't have very many funds to do so. They had just enough, but if the journey to the salt-soaked city was as far as they thought it was, they would definitely require more resources so they could visit the tree soon after their arrival in the next city. Pollux joked to himself about obtaining an organ grinder and having the little ape siblings dance for change, but it was more of an amusing thought than any sort of possibility.

"See this, you two?" he said, holding up a coin for the primates to observe. One of them clambered up his arm for closer examination and bit at the shiny piece. "If you see any of these lying around, get it to me alright? We need all the change we can get." He then loosened his grip to let them have it. It was a stretch, but if he was lucky, he figured they might find something more valuable than bottle caps or can tabs. In the meantime, he decided he'd try and scrounge up some change doing his usual services, tarot reading.

It was difficult getting an audience in new places, and with a crowd like this, it was hard to tell if he was going to get much. Everyone was in a hurry trying to gather what they could before they headed out to the tree as well. He could see all the patrons, each with one of the three sash variants tied around their arm. He then looked down at the two monkeys still fussing over the piece of change he had leant them. It was time to begin.

The business was slow to start, with Pollux trying to catch the attention of anyone who looked in his general direction. However, after a few hours in, he had a semi-steady flow of interested individuals he read tarot cards for. Most individuals wanted to know how their journey would go, or the outlook of the rest of the year, or, of course, love. Things like these Pollux revealed for whatever change or gifts others were willing to offer. It wasn't a whole lot, but it was good enough for him to call it a day, especially as the crowd began to whittle down. During this time, he hadn't seen much of the siblings, but he found them galloping back towards him as the sun set.

"How'd it go, you two?" he asked, scratching the back of one of his monkey friends. The other scrambled over to his bag and pushed it over to him. "Hm?" Pulling it towards him, he found it was a bit weightier than he'd last left it. Looking inside, he discovered chunks of bread, a few odd pieces of fruit, some foil balls, some bottle caps, a thread of a broken necklace, and a hefty chunk of change that sat on the bottom of the bag. Pollux's ears tilted back and the sprung back up again. He was fairly certain some of these items were stolen, but at this point it was too late to try and find who they belonged to. He was grateful for their efforts. He almost wanted to conclude the brother of the two was trying to make up for the dent he had put in their supplies earlier on.

The trio camped just outside the city after some last-minute shopping and settled in as they rewarded themselves with bread and sliced fruit. He watched the two play around the campfire until it was time to turn in. As the ashes simmered down, the three of them slept in a little pile waiting to see what the next day would bring.

The following morning, they began their trek out to Santopae. Part of it was to take a look at the strange and prosperous city, part of it was to gather any last supplies before heading out to the salt flats to stop and tie his copper ribbon onto Eden's tree. It was a good ways out, landing them in the city sometime in the afternoon. It was a unique destination. Such a sharp contrast to where Pollux was from. Their structures were beautiful and crystalline in nature. He wouldn't have been the least bit surprised if these also had a part in powering the city, seeing how various other crystals were used for the same purpose. He couldn't help but purchase a few to take back home, one for him to add to his little altar, and a few small ones for the other monkey pals he had waiting back home. He also bought some of their salt as well, hoping to use some for future rituals that may need some of the exceptionally pure mineral.

After a decent browse, and some thwarted theft attempts by the monkeys later, Pollux decided it was time to go. He topped off his water skeins and the group headed out across the flats. They hadn't gotten far before they could make out the giant coral in the distance. Whether it was really huge or closer than they expected, he couldn't be quite sure, but them, along with all the other traveling patrons made their way to Eden's chosen tree.

The remainder of the journey wasn’t as long as he expected it to be, but it was still quite a walk, with more and more patrons converging on the spot as they grew closer. Pollux was proud of himself for making it this far, despite the few obstacles he had come across along the way, and he was quite grateful for the companions who had come along with him. It was hard for him to imagine him doing this all alone.

When they arrived at Eden’s tree, he stared up at the massive coral. Already, there were tons of ribbons hanging from its various limbs. Many saturated the bottom branches, with them getting sparser the further up they got as one would expect. He looked at the copper ribbon tied about his arms and unwrapped it, holding it out to his two friends.

“Could you guys do me a favor?” The primates examined the shiny fabric, with one clutching at it in their tiny hand and sniffing it. “Could you put this ribbon up really high up for me?” He pointed high up on the tree to the more precarious branches. The brother ape snatched up the ribbon and scampered off, his sister tailing fast behind. They played in the limbs of the massive tree and climbed higher and higher until they met a comfortable point, and watched as their dexterous paws worked to tie the ribbon around. Then they played about some more before descending and climbing back up onto the starry grem, licking salt from their paws.

“Thanks you guys… Thanks so much.”
