Personality: Sodalite is a fun flirty gem who’s friendly towards others she knows who won’t mean any harm and she’s very guarded when she sees something as a threat. She spends most of her time keeping to herself but she still enjoys company sometimes. She will lose confidence within herself if she does something wrong and usually blames herself when she can’t fix the problems she makes for herself.
She doesn’t easily trust anyone which is why she’s very defensive over herself and others she considers herself close to. She’s sometimes laid back when she’s got nothing to do and usually just goes with the flow. There are times where her kindness really shows and it’s only showed towards her friends or anyone who’s been nice to her. She will defend her friends if they’re in trouble and she will try to help them as well. She tries to be very understanding by trying to see the situation from someone’s point of view. She will stand up for her friends if they’re in trouble and she won’t hesitate to do so.
She also has a very sassy nature and comes across as someone who’s bossy as well, especially when she doesn’t get her way sometimes. Often she won’t think before she says something, making herself very blunt with her words. Though when she’s in a situation where words are needed to be chosen carefully, she will think before acting.
There are times when she will pull pranks or make jokes but not knowing if whether it’ll hurt someone or not. Unfortunately, it takes her time to learn from past mistakes so she doesn’t repeat them.

History: When Sodalite was formed, around 5 thousand years ago, she was assigned to be an advisor for a Lapis Lazuli. Sodalite was obligated to follow her around, relay messages, and perform other tasks that Lapis simply did not want to do. While trying to do her best, nothing seemed good enough for Lapis, resulting in Sodalite being tormented and hassled each and every day by her superior because she was bad at her job. Eventually, 2 thousand years later, she had enough of being mistreated and attempted to leave. Before she could escape, she was captured by Carnelian. Instead of shattering her gem, Carnelian’s Black Pearl convinced her to give her back to Lapis. Though Lapis considered her a traitor, she still felt that Sodalite could be useful and punished her by trapping her gem in a book. As a gem powered device, Sodalite was able to “speak” through text, so that she was still functional but she couldn’t escape again.

Sodalite spent around 1,700 years as a book, serving for Lapis with no room for complaints. Eventually, Hackmanite, a good old friend of Sodalite, discovered what had happened to her. He stole the Sodalite book from Lapis Lazuli and attempted to free her, but failed. Fearing that he’d be caught with her, but not wanting her to go back to Lapis, Hackmanite shipped Sodalite away in an escape pod to a planet called Earth where she could be safe and away from Homeworld at the very least.

A few hundred years later, an Imperial Topaz found Book!Sodalite while exploring for treasures. Finding it peculiar of a gem to be trapped in a book, Topaz recalled her friend Steven mentioning another gem friend of his stuck in a similar situation. Believing he could be the one to help, Topaz took the book to Steven who succeeded in freeing Sodalite from her prison!

Now free, Sodalite does her very best to get used to her freedom, her new surroundings and lifestyle, as well as fit in and get along with the other gems on Earth.
