I always felt that the chick uniforms for the original series were better than the ones for NG, DS9, etc.
Of course, in the original pilot, the uniforms were unisex and looked like something from some 1950's B-movie. So when the show was greenlighted, some studio toadie (God bless his soul) got the bright idea to make the chick uniforms sexier, while still making them acceptable to the Standards and Practice nazis of that time, thus inspiring over 40 years of creamy little dreams for Trekkies and other sci-fi geeks.
