Cate was rowing the team towards the hunting spot that the team chose upon. She was thinking on the tips and strategies that Bulbrax had stated, "Hey Cate, you need me to take it?" A tan armored biped said tapping on her shoulder; back to reality cate looked over at the Gro, "No, No I'm good, just thinking about the Hooklung." She said and continued back to rowing. Cate glanced over into the lake a dark deep and bountiful body of water. She still is finding it hard to believe that such a Spite could've taken hold in the lake.
"Okay so whose gonna be getting the Hooklung to come up here?" Cate says while preparing the net and grabbing some knives- She looked over at the Finn, Merissa who was already getting ready to jump on into the water. "I got this covered." She said with a slight grin. Huxley stretched his forearms, before grabbing up a spear. He spoke with a strong voice, "I'll go ahead and get it too." He had a determiner expression upon his face before the two gros leapt on into the water
Cate sat in the boat while fidgeting with the net a bit, "They seem to have been taking a while." Cate said glancing down into the water. "The Spite must've just been deep down there." Equinox said while working on his side of the net. Cate saw a few bubbles rise to the surface think that must be them leaned her abdomen up over to see if she could spot them below the surface.
Cate had gotten Equi's attention over to the water. "Hey bring the net, I think their coming up!" She said grabbing her end of the net. Equinox nodded and grabbed his end of the net to throw. But as the two of them watched three hooks shot out of the water in front of Cate's face. She reeled back in shock and surprise of it occurring, but as the started falling back down they had snagged onto Cate's skin and pulled. "Ahhh!" She shouted as the hooks yanked on her.
Equinox in shock quickly went to cut try and cut the tethers but no luck. "Well, looks like they found that spite." Cate said crinkling her snout, as the Spite yanked a more pulling the hooks diagonally down her abdomen. She fisted her hands, grabbed some plyers she brought with them and carefully yet quickly pulled the hooks out. Equinox, helping grabbed the tethers and pulling them up.
Cate needed a bit of a breather and held onto her wounds securely. "By Chii this beast is strong for being so small, Mind lending a hand!" Equinox said and he tugged and pulled at the line. Cate nodded, " Yeah, I'll do what I can to." She said before stabbing the hooks with the net. "Kay I think that'll help." She adds before grabbing the tethers and pulling more and more.

Finally they had seen the head of the spite, it was bloodied, with Knife and spear wounds. The two of them had thrown the net over the fish and pulled it aboard, with Merissa and Huxley pushing it up as well. They were covered in cuts and blood from the fight below the water. "Looks like it was a wild fight down their, huh?" Equinox rhetorically asked, Merissa rolled her eyes, "Isn't it clear to see?" She said shaking the blood off of her knives. " Yeah it was pretty rough." Huxley threw in before spotting cates injuries.
"I'll be fine, probably just need to have this patched up." Cate sighed, while looking at the others. " I thought the boat just got snagged when the Hooklung shot out towards the surface." Merissa said while grabbing one of the boats oars and started to row, Equinox followed suit and the two rowed the team back to shore. Cate tossed the Hooklung out of the boat. "We got the fish." She said looking at Bulbrax, who is just like confused yet still his constantly done self. The rest of the team followed her till they reached a spot to sit, Cate sat herself down with the spite. She looked down at her injuries , "Well now that's gonna leave a mark." She said adding in a chuckle.
"Do we got a med kit anywhere?" Cate asked looking up at the others. Merissa remembers where Kits where located and hurried over to go grab them.
Merissa returns with a kit in hand, she came over the rest team and opened up the package while sitting them down on the ground. The box contained; various herbs, a bottle of peroxide, gauze, and a splint. Huxley took out the peroxide and cut a small thing of gauze, he poured the peroxide on it and generously dabbed it across Cate's wounds; It stung like hell as the wound bubbled. He proceeded to also get peroxide wipes prepared for both himself and Merissa. After a second huxley started to apply the gauze to cate, wrapping it around her shoulder and chest, having no less than two layers of it.

Cate watched the others get bandaged up to before pushing herself up and walking over towards the boat. Equinox hopped up and followed her in case she needed any help. Cate had happen to forget her tackle box in the boat. She reached for it but it was ever so slightly out of her reach, Equi was able to reach though and got it for her; the two of them than returned to the team. Cate sat down in front of the spite, with plyers anda knife ready. "Haha you're seriously gonna get those hooks right now?" Merissa laughed at the thought of such an injured woman working on that. Cate laughed as well, "yep, that ain't stopping me!" She said with a grin.
"At least the lake is a safer place with all these Hooklungs being fished." Equinox said looking at all the folk rowing up to shore with nets of Hooklungs, "Yeah but it's going to also reek like never before." Cate tossed in, and they all had a good laugh at that.

Heavens I don't even remember the last time I wrote a story that long TuT
But either way that was a blast, and it was a fun test. I also got some new brushes on gimp to try out so that was cool. ^^

Also Cate for the rest of Warptide will be wear the gauze I mentioned in the story. ^^
