if you dont mind me asking, what kind of pen do you use? ive been searching for one endlessly but all the ones i use run all over the page when the watercolor comes into play..

Ah!
Yup, that is a nasty problem with most markers.
Actually, when I intend on doing a colour piece, I don't use filtpens or markers.
For these occasions, I use black (Indian) ink and a drawing pen or a fine brush.
The Indian ink is waterproof, so it won't run.
Alternative are two waterproof markers:
The PITT-artist pen by Faber-Castell and Sakura Pigma Micron pigment marker.
