Even though it never may come true
It took all of her courage to do it. So many times she told herself it wasn't right, she didn't need to - that there was no point. There was only one wolf she needed to look after and that was herself. But no matter how hard she tried, no matter how often she tried to tell herself, Procyon couldn't accept the lie. Her heart knew it was a lie. Raatek had disappeared, thought to be lost to yet another rock fall in Tyluman mountains, and although the official
search teams had finally been called off, Procyon knew in her heart that he was still out there. That he was lost, maybe hurt - he wouldn't just leave Stonehaven - he loved it too much, he wouldn't leave her. He couldn't. So one day in the earliest mornings, Procyon crept out on her daily duties of finding paths and checking the ways of the mountain, only, she didn't come back. Not yet. Procyon disappears while on duty, supposedly lost in another rockslide. (WC:199)
