I guess this is officially fanart.This is an alt-concept for the League of Legends champion, Maokai, the Twisted Treant. He's pretty sweet. I'd like to see an ability or two of his buffed a teeny bit, but he's pretty sweet.
Naturally, this is a maddened, undead version of Maokai. BRAAAAAAAINS.

I figured that one way or another, it's not like they'd ever be able to do a skin like this anyway with the skull-saplings and mao's skully-face. You know, China and all. Chances are they're gonna have to cover up the bony arm on Haunted Maokai as it is for the Chinese market.

Looks like the new Haunted Maokai skin is fairly similar.
Skeletal right arm, trunk of a tree in the same angle form his head. Not a clone by any means, but similar enough to notice.
But, I like this design better

Well my "usual" process is that I do a pretty complete drawing with normal graphite (HB, 3B, and 6B pencils specifically) and ebony pencil, basically getting it as finished as possible with just those. I may lay in some basic color with watercolors or acrylic washes. Once done, I scan the drawing and it's in photoshop that I do most of the coloring, and pick out a few highlights or deep shadows at the end. Although in photoshop, most of the coloring and any additional texturing are added from stained paper textures and things like splattery brushy smears are added from sources I create personally through traditional means.
So I guess that makes most of my stuff like Maokai here pieces that are more or less digitally constructed collages of tradtionally created drawings and color/textures.
