Description Do my ears deceive me?
for what I hear is a humming bird,
singing me a melody before the chirping birds.

My eyes wanting to see.

They will find me sound asleep-- laying lazily in my bed--
waking up to the hummingbird singing in my head.

I yawn, I stretch, I open my eyes-- scratching my head--
as my stomach roars in absolute dread;
hoping to find food so that I may be fed.

Running down the steps into the kitchen unaware-
except for me and the humming bird all alone in there.

As she--the humming bird-- sits in my chair.
She seem happy that I arrived,
singing me a lovely song that only I can hear.

Being wrapped in a soothing verse,
that cannot be compared.

Now the feast before my eyes set with all that I can eat:
eggs, toast, grits, & biscuits as well as many meats.

And the humming bird still singing,
as if I were asleep.

But before I take a bite,
the food disappears.

I find myself waking up,
with a humming bird, in my ear.
