Awesome shot! I really like the colors, how the pale gold merges into a deep blue. The bokeh near the top of the photo is lovely. Great DOF!

1000/10.

is that how a snowflake looks like in real life?

p.s

Wow... 1000/10 ?
That's quite a lot!

For the "Magnus", i used my tablet, so that's my hand writing.
So it's not a font. Sorry..

Hi! I wanted to ask- what lenses do you use for your macro shots? i have sigma 70-300mm but kinda cant take a picture of snowflakes this close! strange.. :/

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RokkeR In reply to iilva [2010-01-10 10:51:48 +0000 UTC]

Hi!
Well i have an Olympus 40-150mm 1: 3.5-4.5.
But I use Macro tubes to get some distance between my camera and my lens, thus creating a very nice macro lens.
The main problem using tubes is that the ex-if information stored in the pictures gets false data since there is no communication availible between the lens and the camera.

mszafran In reply to RokkeR [2010-09-15 17:38:55 +0000 UTC]

Are they the simple cheap tubes with no electronics? I guess with those you're stuck to the widest aperture?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RokkeR In reply to mszafran [2010-09-15 18:11:05 +0000 UTC]

Yep, that's the ones and you're correct about the aperture.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

mszafran In reply to RokkeR [2010-09-15 18:16:29 +0000 UTC]

I did just have an idea. You could take the sort of approach that the LensBaby uses, and make up some aperture disks to stick over the end of the lens.

There's a bit of maths involved to get it exact, but it should work.

That cheap set of tubes is looking a lot more attractive now

RokkeR In reply to mszafran [2010-09-15 18:51:26 +0000 UTC]

That's an awesome idea!
I love my tubes, quite decent results for no money at all.
But i've never thought of combining in that way
