The battle that gave me the most trouble was Ser Cauthrien, to the point where I said screw it and let her capture me. Luckily it was an option. As a stabby rogue, having a tank (Alistair) and a healer (I actually just gave Morrigan some healing spells but would take Wynne for boss fights) were lifesavers and left the third slot for whoever I wanted.

Well, it does pay off to have Team Murder (Tabris, Zevvie, Oggy, Sten) on you at all times... Alistair is simply too innocent to pull off some really nasty combos, methinks . Hats off for this Zev, Oggy and Tabris, they're adorkable.

I fail miserably without a tank, and frankly that's the only class I can control manually about as well as the AI >___>

For some reason I have no trouble as a rogue. Literally I do that most damage and have the highest body count in my party.

Love it!Β

The broodmother is annoying as shit if you are a mage, knocked off your feet before you can spell then even when you face her/it your spells still attack the tentacles and bam friendly fire.Β

AWESOME I loved Ogrhen whose feet were the only things visible and you did a great job at making it obvious who the owner of those feet are The expression on Tabris face in the last panel is priceless.

I remember when I first played as a rogue. It was awful for me, mostly because my copy of the game had a BIG problem.

I was playing as a Dalish elf archer. I had my dexterity very high of course, yet only one out of four arrows ever hit. My disk had some glitch that made my dexterity always crap. Bad for a rogue. I ended up having to get another copy.

I though one can patch any version of the game, and if there's a bug, there's always a fix somewhere...

Knight-Watcher [2012-03-13 12:37:16 +0000 UTC]

there are so few games I have gone above easy on and when I did it was with teammates who couldn't be injured by my mistakes. somes games have far more micro than others (micro includes squad directing/managing) and others are far more linked to macro (more story oriented, less team oriented). Mass Effect games have a tendency to switch or double stack the two.

I only beat DA: O as a soldier so far. My Rogue made it through Ostagar, Lothering, Redcliffe, and Brecilian.

I found it best to avoid going to the Dwarven quests until you've done everything else. Also the mage needs some really strong freezing spell and having someone known how to make health potions and such. Saves money and frustration... still that BM was one pain in the neck boss fight.

So melee, tank, archer, and mage (for me that was myself, Oghren, Morrigan, and Zevran). At least I believe that was the team configuration.

Yeah, I even quited the Brecilian forest quest (I was in the middle of it) when a friend told me I can find a healer in the Circle.

in the only playthrough I have finished totally I sided with the elves (well I just wanted to end the curse and well I didn't know that meant a side with the elves outcome). I have yet to test the other way where the wolves end up my allies. Same goes for destroying the Anvil of the Void and the Urn of Andraste's Ashes.

LOL The pride and the fall of every Dragon Age gamer! XD

My first playthrough was on "Easy" since I rationalized that it was my first time playing, the second because I was a mage whose every spell kept accidentally killing already injured party members with friendly fire. Around the third time I felt ashamed for playing so many times on Easy, and cranked it up to "Normal" for an archer.

Yeah, now I just play on easy since it saves time and frustration. Still a bit ashamed, but not enough to do anything.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Roksik In reply to ShadowsHeir500 [2012-03-05 14:53:36 +0000 UTC]

I played on normal, and switched to easy every time I had problems with anyone. Broodmother included, so, uh... I wasn't honest with my Surana's last line ^____^"""

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ShadowsHeir500 In reply to Roksik [2012-03-06 07:23:51 +0000 UTC]

Hey, that's still more than me. Again, I tried playing normal both as a mage and an archer, but around Ostagar and Lothering I finally said "F*CK THIS!" and just played easy for the rest of each game. Points for doing more than that.

Hey, I remember walking into a group of mercenaries just ouside Lothering! All of them - Sten, Morrigan and my Wadren dropped dead, and only Alistait and my brave mabari stayed to save the day (to flee asap, I mean ) So yeah, I can feel your pain...

Best to try killing her with ranged attacks. Mages are reccomended, especially if either know Tempest or Blizzard. Use those spells at the same time and you cause a combo called "Storm of the Century". If Death hex is added, that'll make short work of her.

...... The Brood Mother...

I found taking two tanks and Morrigan with you was the best bet.

What i did was, I let Ali-bear and Oghren go ahead and go forward, And i clicked over to Morrigan and I used every blizzard/fireball/earthquake spell ever. Clicked back to my rogue, shot that evil creature.
Put on my daggers when the Genlocks and Hurlocks attacked. *clicked back over to Morrigan to use spirit Healing to make sure that my tanks didnt die... and if they did, made them live again..."

And Repeat...

Instead of the normal.... Hour and a half that I usually play... And my six million deaths... I didnt die... Only my tanks did
