___________________________________________________________________________My original inspiration for this poem was from the series "Dexter". The title character
call his urge to kill his "Dark Passenger", and describes it as a growing, uncontrollable
need. As I tried to understand and describe this feeling, I realized it resembled
something I have some personal experience with, addiction. When its not available,
or when trying to stop, there is a ... an indescribable hunger ... thoughts and memories of
many random, unconnected things ...and with feelings of guilt when you surrender. This is
an attempt to capture that moment
