Leiji Matsumoto tribute piece

I learn a lot about the people I do tribute pieces of every time I make one. For example, did you know LM designed an actual ship that's currently still in use for cruises? I figured having the Himiko fly with his more iconic ships was quite fitting. In any case, this piece was originally planned to just be a Galaxy Railways as back when I watched it a few years ago I felt inspired to do some fanart, but as Leiji Matsumoto passed on fairly recently I decided to make this a tribute piece instead so it's a bit more of his expanded universe than simply a small part of it. Rest in peace, Leiji Matsumoto, grandfather and early pioneer of the Space Opera genre. Your work will continue to live on in the stars themselves and in the hearts and minds of those who are willing to look out into space and dream. (Yeah, I really like that line; think I'll use it here...)
