I. love. sai. So much!! This is my first time using it and it's wonderful to use...This is a "rabbit" eeveelution for for our art trade
I wasn't sure what colors to use, so I just went with it lol. Hope you like it!

I'm not sure what to say about how I did it... It was my first time with sai so I was mostly experimenting. First I put down a tan base color. Then I used the rough round brush at a really big size to start painting really dark greens and blues for the shadows, using a smaller and smaller brush size as I went. I used really light yellows for highlights. Then after all the shadows and highlights looked right, I put in other colors to make it more interesting, mostly oranges. ...I dunno, I just played around with it. After it was done, I opened it in photoshop and made the colors a little more saturated.

Oh, and I forgot to write, your art is done with sai? It looked like photoshop to me! Do you use the airbrush a lot?

It is done in sai, yes. c: I mostly use the water color brush, and a brush I made that blends colors (its basically water color with just water.)
But I have discovered the joys if the bristle brush too~ and I wanna use it more. XD

I know what you mean, the smooth effect looks so nice, but making it can be a pain.
I have so much I want to master! Watercolors, cute flat art, pixel, smooth-shinyish, brushstroke-y, and flat texture stuff. We can do it!

I've only used it once (this deviation), but I think it's really good even for beginners. It's very easy to understand and use

:c I have to use it in class, and our teacher just... expects us to know it when she doesnt teach us. (she knows nothing about these programs. We basically follow tutorials other people write)
But still vector art looks so pretty when its well done. I'd make it if I had the patience.
