Awesome! Was an infiltrator planned for the fourth installment and then removed (as I think the whole race was), or is this an original idea?

This is an awesome idea, it should replace the mastermind. Sure the mastermind is badass, but it has no offensive capabilities. Only mindcontrol. If It could shoot lasers like in the GDI finale on TWIII, then it would have been cooler.
