Description
Slavic Spring, vegetation and fertility god Jarilo (Western Slavic name Jarowit). In Slavic myths he was reborn every year at the beginning of Spring and traveled on Earth to make the nature awake after winter and make crops grow. His symbols were crops, flower wreath on his head, shield and white horse. He was also depicted carrying head of his old self (in agriculture-centered Slavic culture time was cyclic, mirroring seasons in nature and many gods repeatedly aged, died/was killed and was reborn).
