As I was writing The All-Alex Rejects , there were a lot of ideas I had that were changed around. I think it worked out in the end. The original ending was far less cathartic & heartwarming. Alice was originally going to make just two appearances, but I liked her so much that I made her a main character. One other one is that Paeton was going to end up with Mars, but it didn't seem right.I thought I'd have Alice ask Paeton about her feelings for Alex Jr. As the story progresses, there's evidence to suggest that in spite of how she treats Jr., she actually does like him more than just as a friend. Alice, always wanting to help her friends, wants to confirm this before she does anything to help set the two of them up. Paeton, however, doesn't want people to think she's attracted to Alex Jr., so she's still hiding it.
