Description
Earlier this year, I got to see The Lego Movie 2 twice; once with my fellow animation students and again with my parents. I really like the movie, about as much as the first one, though I feel that the amount of knowledge needed from the first movie kinda hinders it for new audiences. Still though, love the story, love the characters, the animation, and especially the music.I mentioned before that Benny is one of my favorite characters from the first movie and that holds true for the sequel as well. One of the things I'm really happy about in regards to the sequel is the new LEGO sets with Benny. Before, he was only in 2 very expensive sets and a LEGO Dimensions pack (and it made no sense to get that if I don't own the game). So having some pretty cheap sets, as well as a distinctive collectible Minifigure of him, I'm happy that after 5 long years, I now own 3 Benny minifigures!
One of the things I've read about Benny is that his helmet crack is based on real Classic Space minifigures from the 80s. The plastic in the helmet was so thin that it cracked easily. And not only does Benny have it in the movie, but also in his real figures. Nice touch! I thought it would be funny if one of his Space Squad friends pointed out the crack in his helmet. They've all got perfectly fine helmets, leaving Benny as the only one with a crack. I think he'd be fine with it, though probably not for reasons he should be...

Incidentally, the Benny minifigures have thicker helmets than the original Classic Space minifigures, so it's not like they're perfectly interchangeable.
