Once upon a time, in Equestria, there were two princess sisters. And there was another sister, not as close to them but kind and as radiant as Celestia. She was a distant relative to the princesses, yet she had her own corner, her own land designated for ruling. This princess was the guardian of flora and all things green and alive. Her name was Crystal Shine Rose. In their younger years, they often crossed paths with Cadence and spent time together, but as they grew older, new responsibilities emerged.
Crystal Shine Rose lived on an island inhabited by peculiar creatures. They resembled ponies, but essentially, they were pixies living in harmony with nature. Their homes were large flowers, with roots extending from a big tree with blue leaves. It was said that this tree illuminated at night, sending the same light through its roots to the stems of the flower houses. That's how they lived in peace and harmony, befriending Equestria, nature, and enjoying their little empire, Blossom Empire.
One fine day, uninvited guests arrived. From the Dragon Lands, a dragon prince visited them. He was a hybrid, with a dragon father and a pony mother. Growing up, he showed that he was no less than his relatives, and soon, for his courage, determination, fairness, and wisdom, he was chosen as the leader of one of the dragon packs. Deciding that his people would benefit from separating from their kin who inhabited the Dragon Lands and often engaged in conflicts over territory, the young prince chose an island not far from Equestria. It was inhabited by defenseless pixies, and the local princess could only scare the dragons away with stems that would twirl around them, allowing the dragons to quickly escape.
This young prince was named Drake Flame. His wisdom and intelligence stemmed from the time when the hybrid engaged in pony studies. He had a horn, and he managed magic well enough to even conjure wings similar to the princesses of Equestria. Above all, he excelled in controlling fire.
The time came, and the prince arrived at the shores of Equestria, landing on the island of Blossom Empire. Not wanting bloodshed and to turn the place into ruins, he proposed negotiations to Crystal Shine, which the princess agreed to. They argued and talked for several days, never leaving the negotiating rooms. In the end, they fell in love and decided to marry, uniting their strengths. Soon, a filly was born to them, an Alicorn. The first Alicorn born in Equestria. However, she doesn't consider herself as such, as the records were lost after the events that followed, and the first-born Alicorn later became Flurry Heart.
Several months passed since these joyous events. Unfortunately, the news reached not only Equestria but also the dark forces. One night, a dreadful dark fog enveloped the island of the Empire, and afterwards, the place was wiped off the face of the earth. More precisely, everyone thought so, or even more accurately, everyone forgot about its existence.
Yes, indeed. The dark sorcerer, Acidum Dark, who attacked that dreadful night, heard about the little Alicorn and the rumors about her powerful magic. Deciding to take advantage of this, he attacked the island, killing Rose's parents and enchanting the island in a way that erased it from existence. All of this, the old and feeble sorcerer wouldn't have accomplished alone. He used the magic of the little princess, partially taken from her, and claimed it as his own. Most likely, he used some ancient artifacts, but Rose, being too young, was the only witness, unable to comprehend it all.
Princess Crystal Shine managed to put the Blue Tree into a state similar to sleep at the last moment. The roots from it to the flowers fell asleep, and the pixies in their houses were also put into a deep slumber. The dragons never understood what happened, and they couldn't break through the dome, so they remained trapped there for eternity.
Many years passed, the old sorcerer lived in a distant north, using the Alicorn's magic to sustain his life and have enough strength for minimal magical actions. His goal was to live forever, and he achieved it.
But Rose grew up. Sometimes she could help herself with everyday tasks like ordinary unicorn foals, but no more than that. There was nothing to do in Acidum's castle, so the princess started reading magic books every day. One day, as a teenager in pony terms, Rose, following the instructions she read, managed to release a powerful magical impulse that reached Equestria.
Celestia and Luna didn't know what it was, but worried that it could be a threat, they set out to find the source of this magic. Acidum Dark was weakened, and the two easily defeated him, lifting the curse around the island. They took Rose to Canterlot, raised her together, taught her to control the power that had finally returned. Then they sent her home so that, having learned, she could tame the wild dragons (who obeyed her due to her blood and her father's blood) and save the Blue Tree and the pixies. After doing so, Rose continued to live on this island, occasionally visiting her aunts in Canterlot. That's how she became the ruler.
