I’m pierced through the stomach, the hook jutting out. I can’t feel any bleeding, but I know that’s exactly what they want. It feels like I’m being torn apart inside, the metal rod moving sparadically, carving me more and more apart.

it’s almost humorous when I think
”this isn’t what I meant
when I wished people could see into my heart”
Though, a better work might be abhorrent

Only moments later, I’m violently pulled up.
in comfort, safety, and love I’ll find
because I’ve been rescued and saved, all I must do is wake up

A bit of a metaphor for how I feel getting stuck in the closet bc people around me aren’t very accepting. Draws on a recent string of losses I’ve gone through as well, which all make me feel awful.

this is based on the sympathy I felt for live bait when I was going ice fishing. I love tiny critters, and I didn’t want to use the live bait at all for the fishing. They reminded me of how helpless I myself feel a lot of the time in my life, and it really sucks to see those tiny things so hurt. If I could’ve given them all a better life, I would have.

Regardless, this is also my sona as a member of a species of “Minnow Mice”, small humanoid mice with gills, a fish tail. Their fur tends to be silky and reflective where it merges with the scales, gaining coloration as it gains distance. They prefer freshwater settings, but they can survive in salt water.

Also, for the ending there, the end of the story is that me and other people used as bait in this way are saved by my other sona and some OCs, but I’ve passed out before I can register that.
