Type: Earth Pony? In the written series she is born into a family of unicorns, which was concerning at first for her family. However later in the series her star has magical properties of a Horn. This is why I have no clue what to put her has.

Short Background: Rosewend is Pre-twilight sparkle, and far before celestia and Luna became princesses. She was born in a farm on a settlement of mostly unicorns close to what is now known as ponyville. Her parents were both Unicorns and briefly they worried on why she hadn't a horn but there were far more things to work out. Rosewend as a young filly met her bestfriend and together they spark a journey that could change the world as they know it.

The pathway for Rosewend truly happened the day she met Celestia and Luna as a filly, They were they keys to the door to her pathway and Rosewend hadn't an idea. The day her and Celestia lay lazily by the local lake only to find a flower that Rose had never seen before, knowing all the flowers around this location it sparked Rosewends interest, but when she came in contact with the flower it exploded in light and Rosewend awoke with a cutiemark, blue streaks in her hair, and a new cryptic message from a dream.
This was what sent Rosewend to travel with her two best friends to find herself, Along the way Rosewend learned more about herself and about days to come. However, her path was a dark one, as she let loose an ancient evil that threw the world out of whack. no longer did the sun rise, no longer did stars shine, and nothing grew. Celestia, Luna, and Rosewend battled this evil, and along the way Rosewend found her star unlocked her power as if it was the horn of a unicorn.
Fighting this evil to rid the world of it, woke the cosmos that granted the three their fateful powers, and the powers of an Alicorn. Celestia used the power from the Sun, Luna of the night, and Rosewend of the earth.
At the end Rosewend sacrificed herself to lock away the evil once more, leaving Celestia and Luna to repair the world the evil destroyed.

Rosewend was created to try and answer what happened to the Princess of earth and growth. Because this correlates and may effect the canon story of mlp. I will claim this as an alternate universe.
