Description

Luna and Shadow have circled each other and crossed paths for as long as time itself, night after night, year after year, but they don't despair over the long trek around, for they know one can not exist without the other. There can't be light without darkness. There cannot be life without there also having to be death. There's no good without evil. Though the journey is sometimes painful, bumpy, and fragile at times, that's life. Just two souls climbing up a hill to reach the other in an endless cycle.

This piece is the first time I took something right out of my head. I believe that you need both light and darkness for there to be balance, and I wanted to create an artwork that reflected that in a way. I thought wolves would be a cool way to represent that, and what goes better with wolves than a moon phase?

Doing this canvas was a bit challenging since I decided to use a limited color palette, working with stamps for the first time, and having only eight layers to work with, but I got through it.

Now admittedly, I did use a bit of tracing to get the shape of the hill and the moons to get them just right, and I did use a stamp for the wolves because I was not confident enough to draw them freehanded. I also have a disability that makes drawing a bit difficult for me, but I'm still learning.
