Once the top edges of the hood halves are sewn, trim any excess seam allowance with pinking shears to allow for an easier curve. Put one hood half on you head, making sure that the centre seam is in the middle of your head and look for where the hood flares out from your face - it should be somewhere between your eye-level and mouth-level. At this point, create a small dart to gather the hood back into shape. Repeat the process on the other hood half, making sure the darts match on each half.

Pin the dart in place and sew across the front edge around 5mm in. The dart shouldn't be too large, mine was around 7-8mm.
