I know, I used to be allergic to cat and dog dander so I wanted a Sphinx for that reason.

I hate it when people say stuff like "ugly" or "the ONLY ugly cat" in order to describe these cats.
These little guys are soo squishy!

Nope. it's a sphinx. (also spelt: Sphynx)
The Egyptian Mau is descended from those fabled (and spoiled) cats of Egypt, but the Sphinx started from one random hairless kitten in an otherwise ordinary litter born to a black and white cat in Canada, in the year 1966, although there is some evidence to suggest that the Aztecs also had hairless cats.
It is also possible for a sphinx to have hair, but the hairy ones are not show quality.
The Egyptian Mau, on the other hand, usually has a coat in silver with charcoal markings, bronze with dark brown markings, and smoke with black markings.
Essentially, it comes in light gray with gray stripes, brown with dark brown stripes, and gray with black stripes.
Not sure if a sphinx would be fluffy in the traditional sense, but it's said that they have fuzz like a peach.
