Description
So when surfing through Deviantart, I found something that caught my eye. That being this Luna class, with Akira nacelles. So I thought, "What if I could refine it a little more?" And so I did.
The Akira's nacelles already looked similar enough to the Luna to warrant a possible swapout, but one problem that I had was that the Akira's nacelles are kinda shaped like a wedge. Like, they taper upwards from the front, getting thiccer near the back. To counter this, I decided to flatten the profile, and I ended up with what you see here.
The pylons also felt like they needed to be redesigned. Instead of a sloped curve down like on the original model, I decided to make them almost Excelsior like. That is, relatively straight in terms of verticality, then bending down in a sharp, almost ninety-degree angle before connecting to the nacelles. Safe to say, it turned out pretty good.
Lastly, in-universe lore, perhaps the most important part of any Starship design. Maybe this could be some sort of stopgap between the Akira and Luna, or perhaps a variant on the Luna design. Whatever the case, it does look pretty cool, and safe to say, almost better than the original. The original, of course, being owned by stourangeau . All rights reserved.
