Very morbid concept art. This is Nap at the end of her natural life (she got hit by a nasty virus that took her down pretty fast
) she and her babies live just a little ways off from where Pobaski and AJ are and he found her one stormy night while returning from the nearby city after doing some stuff with one of the criminal gangs that reside there (Its good to be a part of it so you get the inside knowledge about what they do and can help those who get thrown under the buss so to speak).

Haha anyway dark aspect aside i like how this turned out composition wise, also stumbled on a really simple way to do a kinda wartercoloury texture too, its a spread brush in sai but you smooth erase the inside of your mark to leave the fuzzy outer circle intact i think it looks really cool.
And think iv'e figured out a work around to the JPG problem on Deviantart too! When you post a picture DA will convert it to a low quality JPG for easier loading, which looks awful 
Hopefully it will work, this is a test

This looks good, poor unicorn though
i have a question. Wouldn' t it be easier for pobaski to cure the virus? Instead of the way she went with?

And haha well very much so yes, but you see she doesn't devote her time to the study of other organisms on this planet or virus prevention, she dislikes organic creatures and devotes her time to understanding more about the universe and the way it works so she can have more control over everything.
'bottling" someone was a perfect way for her to test out something she wanted to try.
And AJ, well he looses connections constantly and doesn't have the capacity to retain such a large amount of information in one sitting, he has to actively use learned things daily to keep them alive and didn't have the internal networks to draw between for a cure at that time. He could have easily jumped into some study and found a cure for what she had but they didn't have that sort of time with a nearly dead unicorn at their hands unfortunately.

A later mutation of Aids which has managed to jump species. It stays dormant for a period of time destroying the immune system before becoming "active" and that's when symptoms show and rapid decline follows. Not only from the virus but from all the others that can now invade too.
