Stage 1: Initial Bite
Looking no different than a hickey or 'love bite' the pony will feel no symptoms of the infection. Bites are the only known way carriers spread the disease. What these carriers look like is unknown.

Stage 2: Desaturation
At this stage the infected pony will be filled with a deep feeling of emptiness/abandonment. They begin to completely isolate themselves from others. Their cutie mark, mane, and coat begin to fade. Whether this is cause by the infection or the pony's mental state is currently unknown.

Stage 3: Mane loss
At this stage, the pony's color is nearly completely desaturated. With this, their mane begins to fall out. Their features also begin to become more sunken in. Their eyes also begin to give a faint glow as the sclera of their eyes darken.

Stage 4: Final Stage
All that there once was of the pony is gone.
