This is Pin Up Meets Geek Girl Perfection. I have met this model and she truly is a Comic Geek so my Hat is off to the fact that she can combine her love of the Geek World with her love of being a Pin Up Model.

That is so sweet. It woulda been perfect if that was a silver age comic. Like a Curt Swan or a Neal Adams. (comics are garbage nowadays). Or even better a young Justice comic. All in all this is really a cool picture. I'm in love with it LOL

It's an interesting concept (aside from the fact that she is just another "sexy" model in underpants 
This picture has a sort of non professional look to it that kinds of detracts the full impact of the photo and gives the viewer less of a visual experience in terms of sharpness, lighting and colour. The lighting adds a slight fuzziness to some areas such as her hand and the shirt, and the shadows fall on inconvenient areas such as the comic book.
Overall though, the fuzziness of the picture is what makes it look unprofessional.
It's an OK shot with an overused subject (half naked women are getting very old, honestly), and though it got a DD, I can't help but think there are other pieces that deserve the title a bit more.

I would think that "Just another geek but in sexy model underpants" is more appropriate but I respect your right to just lump all beautiful girls into a general nothing special category.
Your analysis of the photograph is spot on. I shoot what I see, what I feel is my focus point, as with many things you cant please everyone, for a painter, they may want to see the wall as the focus point, an upholsterer may want to see the sofa, boob guys boobs, heel fetishists heels. I made my choice for focus and composition and made the call. The shoes needed to be in the shot as did the lips, they needed to be there, but not there....
I shoot with a Nikon D2x and at times film. This was with the D2x, capable of giving you the razor sharpness you state this lacks, but I kill that to give the image the soul i feel it deserves. My style is raw, filmy, gritty, blurry, and sexy. I like to say that it has an editorial "snapshot" feel, and it is that way by design. I love harsh shadows, a lo-fi look with highly refined details.
So thank you. Your high level analysis of the image as the decider of what is deserves the DD title confirms that I absolutely nailed it!
