Description As mentioned in one of my journal entries, I received this as a 30th birthday gift from my father.
Turns out, I drew this (and another) when I was around 12, using my new (at the time) crayola art desk and templates.
Who knew that many years later I'd be drawing and designs graphics on cars for a living.

In an ironic twist of fate, a good friend of mine (Who I had previously worked for, and couldnt have gotten into racing/went out on my own without him) painted this car back in '82. It was the last indycar he ever painted, as he switched to producing vinyl decals full-time that year.

It was also the last year in which Gordon Smiley (his car is depicted) drove at Indy. He died that year during qualifications.

I dont pretend to be a good photographer, and I'm not really wanting to take it out of the frame to scan it. But you get the basic idea of this sketch.
