Well, it's been a while since I've drawn something. Never found the urge to do it ever since I started studying for finals last semester. Now, just one week into the new semester, I feel it again. Must be the boring classes Anyways, was watching Avatar: The Legend of Korra the other night and thought to myself, "It can't be hard to make a cartoon that uses just two levels of shading." Boy was I wrong. I'm fairly certain they use computers from the getgo, but since my method starts with pencil drawing, mine's messy when you zoom in a lot.

I was trying to mimic a drawing of Tenzin I found on the internet, but mine's miminalistic compared to the other one. Here's the link if anyone wants to check it out - [link]

I knew the face would be the hardest, so I focused on that starting out; I ended up focusing too much on the detail and my version of the upper body was too big for me to fit in the rest of the picture on my paper. The head's not gaunt enough and the ear's too small to be a good mimic, but I'm still glad with it overall. I personally think I made him look ten years younger. Hopefully being able to mimic a drawing, I can start making original drawings using the same style. But, to be honest, some of my earlier drawings are a lot like it to begin with.
