Description
A man in a dark cloak stood on the edge of a large cliff.  He stared down into the yawning darkness and then turned, looking back at the dim lights of the village below him.  As he turned back to the darkness he stopped as a slight movement caught his eye.  Turning fully to the village he called back.  "Go back Karin...I don't want you mixed up in this..."

The other person approached.  "I'm not going to let you do this alone..." the feminine voice responded, almost lost in the darkness.  She also wore a dark cloak but she let the hood fall back, moonlight glinting off her green eyes...an oddity in a village of dark eyed people.  A few strands of blond hair slipped from the pony tail and with deft fingers she put them back in place.  "This is not just your fight..." she stated as she stepped up beside him.

"I won't let you follow me...there is to much at stake..." he stated, but stopped, his own hood falling back.  Strands of silver hair caught and reflected the moon light, the silver in his pupils also glinting.  "The elders said that I must go..."

"But they didn't say you had to go alone!" the girls voice responded, almost becoming a bit shrill at the argument they'd had 100 times before

"Look...just stay...I'll be back...I..." he stopped, unable to say the words that he TRULY wished to say

She shook her head, unslinging her bow from her back.  "I'm going with you and that's final..." she stated as she restrung it deftly, showing surprising strength as she deftly pulled the string across.

He chuckled.  "Gods...you're more hard headed then my grandmother..." he stated, pulling the sword he'd 'borrowed' from the church before he left.  The blade gleamed a slight green, a reflection of it's wielders anxiety

The girl chuckled.  "Beat you there..." she stated...and took off towards the edge of the cliff.  He noticed her movement and was able to take off, keeping up with her as they both took off into the darkness...running on the solidified darkness that only occurred when the sun was blocked by all three moons...and was a sign that the apocalypse was coming...but a brave soul would walk off the face of the land...and face the unknown perils that  lay before them
